Pulsar Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Amethyst Studio and Samuel Voeller ("we", "us", or "our") collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Pulsar browser extension and related services.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information. Your Discord username, email address, and Discord user ID when you authenticate through Discord OAuth.
- Discord OAuth credentials. Access and refresh tokens issued by Discord. These are used to keep you signed in and to retrieve your guild and role information.
- Browsing activity. The extension may read the URL and title of the tab you are actively visiting on supported websites. This is processed locally and anonymously for analytics and to match product alerts against your keyword groups.
- Usage and analytics data. Anonymous information about how the extension is used, such as feature usage and notification outcomes, to help us improve the service.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your session.
- Determine which Discord guilds, roles, and product feeds you have access to.
- Match product alerts and queue events against your configured keyword groups.
- Display and send browser notifications when matching events occur.
- Improve, monitor, and protect the extension through anonymous analytics and error reporting.
3. Data sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with the following third parties when necessary to operate the service:
- Discord. We use Discord's OAuth API to authenticate you and retrieve your username, email, and guild/role information.
- Service providers. Hosting and analytics providers that process data on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations.
4. Cookies and local storage
The extension uses the browser's built-in storage (such as Chrome Storage) to keep your session token and settings locally. We do not use traditional browser cookies.
5. Data retention
We retain your account information and OAuth credentials for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your stored session by signing out of the extension, or revoke access entirely by removing the extension and/or revoking the Pulsar application in your Discord account settings.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and restricted access to backend systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, restrict, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in the "Contact us" section below.
8. Children's privacy
Pulsar is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are made. Continued use of the extension after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
10. Contact us
